Competitions
Jack & Jill
Jack & Jill competitions are contests where you enter without a partner. You enter as an individual and are judged as an individual for prelims. Partners will rotate and dance multiple times. Finalists will be paired up and judged as a couple.
Prelims will be during the second band break of the Friday main dance. Finals will be at the start of the third band set of the Saturday main dance.
Solo Charleston
Show off your solo charleston or solo Jazz moves, dominate the dance floor and win! This is an anything goes dance competition with no partner. Competitors will be eliminated round by round until a final dance off; winner takes all.
Competition will take place during the first band break of the Friday late night dance.
Jedi Jack & Jill
The force is strong with this competition. Introducing, for the first time in Albuquerque, the Jedi Jack & Jill competition! Not for the faint of heart, this competition is mostly for the entertainment of the organizers. All the rules of the regular Jack & Jill (see above) apply, but with a twist. This is an anything goes partner competition. Show off your Jedi powers by dancing to non-swing music, dancing on one foot, dizzy dancing, blindfolded dancing and much more! Be prepared for anything.
Competitors with be eliminated round by round and finalize in an epic dance off. This is competition you will NOT want to miss.
